Wear parts for mineral industries
Crushers – Mining and quarry equipment – services & maintenance
BOOKLET
SMD manufacture, maintain and repair quarry and mining equipment for more than 15 years.
During all these years we have been able to convince our customers to entrust us with the realization of complex and diversified projects. Our workshop, our know-how and the experience of our employees have been an asset for the success of each project.
To carry out some of these projects, we have starting to collaborate with founders who are considered as leaders in the mining and quarry sector.
Always concerned to highlight our customer service, we have decided to offer a range of wear parts and spare parts for crushers.
Years of experience
There are a lot of equipment used in the mineral industry,
Whether used to reduce the size of ores or aggregates, the materials used are generally jaw or gyratory crushers, cone crushers or impact crushers (horizontal axis – hammers or blow bars). Sand production is usually achieved through vertical shaft impact crushers.
In some mines, there are also “SIZERS” (MMD types) which have the particularity of operate in primary and secondary crushing and which are suitable for working in a humid environment.
Finishing mills are usually ball mills (SAG or BALL MILL) or roller crushers (smooth or toothed cylinders) mainly found in the clay industry.
We can provide a wide range of wear parts from our stock or on order. Our stock is made from common crusher parts which is constantly renewed according to the market needs.
To handle all your needs, we have created a data base that will allow you to find the wear parts and spare parts you need for your crushers. Your research can be made by manufacturer, type of crusher or OEM references.
Our data base will be updated each month. The actual list of parts is not exhaustive so please feel free to contact us if you can’t find your parts or for a special request.
Our partners
Our foundry partners are experts in the manufacturing of wear parts and spare parts for jaw crushers, gyratory and cone crushers, impacts crushers, hammer crushers, rollers crushers and SAG and Ball mills. They have acquired a worldwide reputation thanks to their exceptional quality products and their constant research for performance. Thanks to numerous registered patents, we are able to guarantee a better wear life of your parts after analysing your working environment and the type of aggregates you are crushing.
In addition, our suppliers have a wide range of foundry patterns that help to cover almost 90% of the market needs. Similarly, our specialized partners in spare parts for impact crushers, ball mills, and roller mills have demonstrated excellent performance of their parts in tests conducted with numerous customers, sometimes even surpassing competing parts.
With the diversity of foundry patterns, most of the machines on the market can be equipped and we ensure a perfect compatibility.

MANGANESE GRADE UP TO 21% WHICH IS ADAPTED FOR HARD AND ABRASIVE AGGREGATES
OUR STEEL GRADES
Grades of crusher parts
Steel grade for jaw and cone crushers wear parts: HADFIELD steel or manganese austenitic steel.
Manganese is an alloy element that increases the elastic limit of steels. In the as-cast state, this alloy is fragile and not very resistant, but after going through various heat treatment cycles (annealing, hypertempering), the mechanical properties of this steel become excellent.
Generally, new parts have a hardness of around 200 HB (Brinell) – Approx. 20HRC (Rockwell). During use, the austenitic structure of this steel is transformed when working and its hardness can be reach 500/600 Brinell – 52/57HRC.
Norms : ASTM A 128 Grade C – EN10349 : 2009 – GX120MnCr13.2 – 12-14% of Manganese.
C | If | Mn | P | S | Cr |
1.05 – 1.35 | 0.3 – 0.9 | 11 – 14 | Max 0.06 | Max 0.045 | 1.5 – 2.5 |
This chemical composition will serve for elaborating the other grades as 18-20% or 21% Manganese.
Grades used for ball mills parts, impact crushers parts, roller crushers parts
Unlike the manganese steel, chromium alloy steels or cast iron are used for moderate impact in abrasive environments.
For these alloys, the percentage of chromium will improve the hardness (core hardness 500/700HB depending on the alloy) and breaking resistance. Conversely, this alloy will be less resilient and will increase resistance to wear by abrasion and resistance to high temperatures. The addition of ceramic will further improve the durability of parts in service.
Applications in the mineral industry: blow bars, tips, hammers, liners etc
Normes : ASTM A 532-Cl III A – GX260Cr27 – Dureté env. 600HB
